07/04/2008 Jens Lundqvist, qualified to the Olympics! During the Olympic Qualification in Nantes, France, the powerful STIGA player, Jens Lundqvist, succeded to qualify to Beijing. He did that after very impressive play through the group and knockout stage. In the group stage he easily won over Olexander Didukh from Ukraine, Dimitry Mazunov, Russia and Konstantin Parapanov. After these wins Jens qualified for the knockout stage. In the quarterfinal the beated the Cem Zheng from Turkey with 4-1. In the semifinal he faced the tricky player, Damien Eloi from France, who was supported by a big crowd. This became a outstanding thriller by two players who has powerful style. Finally Jens won with 12-10 in the 7th set and was then ready for the final. In the final the faced the polish player, Wang Zeng Yi, a penholder with shortpimples. In the final Jens was extremly focused and made very few errors, and the final result was 4-1. Congratulations Jens for this outstanding performance!!
