The Olympic Games in Beijing were an event of superlatives.
Superlative performances were also presented by the DONIC players Dima Ovtcharov when winning the silver medal in the Olympic men's team event and above all Jörgen Persson who became the best European player by reaching the semi-final of the Olympic men's singles event.
